Today we had a day off with a drive between resorts. As you can imagine there are lots of Paddy fields in Sri Lanka. What I did not expect to see were the rural farmers drying out their rice on the roadside!
Further along the "trunk" road we were confronted by an elephant. We had to bribe the elephant with a bunch of 24 bananas. We decided to charge the elephant with extortion and indecent exposure before he would let us through.
We stopped for lunch and these were the signs on the doors for men and ladies toilets.

ReplyDeleteI hope your driver didn’t drive over the drying rice. I knew you were hoping to see plenty of elephants and a leopard but I didn’t expect you to see a bear. The bird life is extraordinary. What an amazing time you’re having.
