Day 9 Williams Az

 Captains log Day Nine

A day of rest from driving spent wandering downtown in Williams.  Poor old Peter couldn’t believe he was visiting every curio shop in town. Bless him just keep him topped up with coffee and he doesn’t complain.  Plenty of Route 66 memorabilia with museums and artefacts and the inevitable junk to browse through.

For those of you that like a bit of history - Williams was the last town to be bypassed off the original Route 66 when the freeway was built.  The natives have certainly kept it alive.

We had a drink in a traditional roadhouse bar and then a man sized steak in the Red Raven restaurant.  On the recommendation of the people who ran the leather store we finished the night in another bar where the locals liked to do their bit on the karaoke machine.  Fun but don’t think they should give up the day job!!

  1. I notice shopping bags in Peter's hand, not big enough for a cadillac 😁

Day 8 - Driving

Today we had a day off with a drive between resorts.  As you can imagine there are lots of Paddy fields in Sri Lanka. What I did not expect...
